It seems like he has been saying it more of late, he was saying it last year and had a tendency to say it just before something bad would happen.

I missed the entire rally last night. After the botched trap call, I couldn't take Hawk. I changed the channel and watched Baby First TV. While I agree over turning the call was bad, he thought the ball was caught in real time. Until he got to see super slow motion in HD, he realized it wasn't caught. Retire old man already.

It's just like all of Hawk's zillion catchphrases. He says it once in a while for a couple years, then BAM, he starts saying it every five seconds.

Bob Prince, long time radio and TV announcer for the Pittsburgh Pirates was the first one to use the phrase attributed to Boudreau. His exact words were "you can kiss it goodbye". "Can of corn" is his also.
