Default Brian Cashman becomes tabloid fodder

Tells you how much NY is still a baseball town as at least for today the Super Bowl gets bumped off the front pages.

Mike Francesa on WFAN this morning says Cashman's job is in dire jeopardy.

Only in NY would the Super Bowl get bumped by the tabloids.

And that's with an NY team playing in the game! You think Hank & Hal will use this as the excuse they need to get rid of Cashman?

The New York media thinks that is exactly what will happen. The Steinbrenner brothers remember what happened with their former brother in law when he cheated on their sister.

I have to admit "Out at home" is a clever headline.

Ironically, he's named Cashman for a reason. He's going to be spending big money both on and off the field.

His countenance always struck me as weird. He looked out to lunch. It's not like he has to do too much running them, with that unlimited cable revenue stream.

Eventually, guys like A-Fraud, Jeter, and Rivera will calcify. Teixeira has even slowed down the last couple of years.

Now that he's out at home, I wonder what the Steinbrenners will do.
