Apparently the lefty could throw in triple digits. His walks are very high(expected) But we do have success stories with converted position players...Not a bad claim as we only have 36 players on the 40 man.

Very interesting. Hopefully we can grrom him. Is he prjected as a reliever or a starter? Does anyone have any additionial info?

Guys that throw in the triple digits don't grow on trees. Even if there is a remote chance the Sox can correct a flaw in his delivery, it is worth taking it. It's not like we have a ton of bullpen depth in the minors.

If these Minor League stats are accurate, Leyson had some really interesting seasons playing RF in A ball.

In '06, he played 129 games in RF for South Bend of the Midwest League. He made 9 errors, but he had 21 outfield assists and turned 5 double plays!

In '07 he played 92 games in RF for Visalia of the Cal league. He made 8 errors, but had 11 outfield assists and turned 5 more double plays!

It seems they converted him to a pitcher after the '07 season in hopes to tame that cannon.
