Was watching Jose Contreras pitching against the Flubs today and it got me wondering where the guy is who we got for him from Colorado. His name was Brandon Hynick and he had some good numbers as a starter in the minors. Haven't seen anything about him this year, either in spring training or on Charlotte or Birmingham. Does anybody know anything about his status?

Hynick pitched to one batter in the 1st inning (a walk) and left the game. Not sure what happened.

What's the word on this guy still? He dominated AA and just got promoted, is he a back-of-the-rotation ceiling guy? I could see him being trade fodder what with Hudson and Torres and even Jeff Marquez being ahead of him

He's nothing significant.

Yeah, but did Jack Egbert ever have his own domain name/website? ![]() I understand what you're saying but I hope Hynick continues to do well now that he's with Charlotte. If he doesn't contribute to the Sox directly perhaps he can help by being a tradable player.
