I've been away from my computer for the evening; is Ozzie really that pissed because Ozney wasn't picked high enough? Has he commented on the matter?

This is ****ing ridiculous. Why do the Sox need to draft Ozney? Let him be picked by some other team based on his talent.

The 2010 team is going up in flames and the Guillens are worried about this ****? Un-****ing-believable. It really makes me want to buy more tickets to Sox games knowing that this is how seriously they take the future of this franchise.

Maybe it's time for the Sox tradition of draft day nepotism to stop. This organization looks like a ****ing joke with this stuff.

My best friend's brother pitched D-III and faced Oney a lot. One game I saw he struck him out three times in three at-bats and Oney looked like absolute ****.

Said pitcher went...undrafted. I echo your sentiments, Dub.

Disappointed is what he used. And his take is that his son thought he'd go higher, but Ozzie himself didn't expect that.

But no other team picked him before then, so I don't get why there would be a beef.

That's probably a good reason why Ozney fell, because everyone knew he will probably play at South Florida, instead of the minors. I think he will have a great season next year though.

Oney was a freshman at North Park my senior year. He had a good glove but was awful at the plate, even in batting practice. Seeing as how you need to hit upwards of.400 in DIII to even have a shot at getting drafted (and I played against a handful of guys where this was the case) to say he didn't belong in the minors is an understatement. I was pissed when we drafted him and even more pissed that he took up a roster spot for a year.

That being said, I had heard before that Ozzie's other kid Ozney is a legit player that likely will be a descent prospect by the time he's done with college. I mean it's not totally inconceiveable...he has the genes. The nepotism thing is a joke though. I mean we drafted Scheuler's daughter for God sakes, who didn't even play baseball (or softball as far as I know).

Great to hear we have some guys signing quick and ready to continue on their successful seasons. Royse had a good season with the 'Ville and hopefully will build on it for the future.
