I wish no ills on either of those two...but I will never criticize KW for trading prospects. Even if Allen becomes a star, which I wouldn't bet on, KW has a good track record getting value for prospects who go on to not be productive.

I hope Poreda and Carter have good careers with the Pads. But it would be completely not surprising if they don't.

Even though his numbers on the season don't show it, Gio hasn't been terrible this year. He had a 2.2 IP, 11 ER outing vs Minny a 2 3.2 IP, 4 ER starts. That will kill your ERA when you only have 45 IP on the year. But he has also had 6 starts where he combined for 12 ER in 31 IP.

Put it this way, I'd take Gio back in a heartbeat. It is not yet time to close the book on him.

Gio's actually been pretty good lately. He shut down the Yankees and I remember reading some quotes from Jeter and A-Rod saying they couldn't believe his ERA was as high as it was. Of course that's what they'll say after a guy with that ERA shuts you down, but like I said, he's had a good string of starts lately.

I have nothing against any of those guys and wish them the best.
