Default 2009 Futures Game
Any idea who is going to be invited to play in the Futures Game in St. Louis this year?

I'm guessing Beckham & Poreda should be there. Maybe even Viciedo for the World team?

Who knows who will be on there. It's up to Baseball America and MLB to decide who will be on the rosters. Only 2 players maximum from each organization are allowed though. Based on notoriety I would assume Beckham will be playing, and a case could be made for many others if a 2nd player is chosen. Still plenty of time to decide.

With the way he's been playing, I'd be shocked if Brandon Allen didn't make it. I could see Poreda getting the nod over him though.

Huh? Only 2 players from each organization are allowed. Flowers is easily the Sox top prospect with Gordon and Poreda in the bigs. Viciedo deserves the other spot as much as anyone else.

The game is at 1 today on ESPN2. Considering that's the same time as the Sox game, I'll be recording it and watching it later. I can't wait to get a look at Flowers and Viciedo.

I'm pretty excited to see Flowers. Not so much Viciedo after hearing Goldstein's recent comments on him. (Yes, yes. Young, acclimating, etc but he hasn't looked good so far.)
