Default Gobble on Fire in Charlotte
Has anyone been paying attention to Jimmy Gobble? He has struck out 7 of last 8 batters he's faced. Only need 12 pitches to strike out the side against Durham yesterday. He's only given up 1 hit in his last 7 outtings. Looks like a great pickup.

When I read the subject, I thought Gobble had lit himself up with gasoline and matches.

Hey, it's not a bad town! (I do live in Durham and like it much better here...). Now Fort Mill, SC where the stadium is actually located, that might be another story...

He's a former Royal reliever. This has not been good for us in the past. So I warn everyone to curb their enthusiasm.

Very true. If continues to perform at this level, I think we should give him a shot in the bullpen, though. He was never GREAT with the Royals, but I remember him having a decent fastball and it would be nice to have another LH pitching option in the pen.

You'd rarely run into anyone in Durham from the South anymore... I'm from the SW side of Chicago myself.

I'm sure if Richard proves he can't do the job then Gobble is next in line for the lefty specialist role.
