The picture quality is, however, amazingly good for a non-HD channel. Some of my digital non-HD channels have so much compression they almost look like YouTube videos.

I thought a few days before the launch I heard on the mlb channel that everything was shot in HD. It just wasn't being broadcast in HD. Probably because the cable or dish companies didn't want to pick it up the second channel yet? But it still does look rather nice for being 480.

So far I've missed every airing of the 2005 WS Highlights except for tomorrow morning.
To the people who have watched it already, is this just the Official World Series DVD that MLB put out, or a new program entirely? I don't want to waste time setting my DVR to record something I already have in my DVD collection.

Thanks, that's what I figured
. I won't bother recording it, though if I'm home when it's on, I'm sure I'll watch it (like when one of your favorite movies comes on TNT, you leave it on even if the DVD is sitting five feet away on a shelf). |

Looking forward to seeing Rauch and Parque get torched.
Check out the lineup from that game: Lofton, Durham, Thomas, Ordonez, Graffanino, Konerko, Valentin, Lee, Johnson, Clayton |

Leave it to the Cubs to score five in the top of the 11th and give up six in the bottom half (box score here) to blow the game, while only getting one out to boot. You could hear the fear in Harry's voice when the Pirates put the first two men on in the 11th. Priceless... I'm looking forward to that Fisk game myself. I hope that MLB gets that posted on iTunes for download. I'll be first in line for that. |

Me too. They played that game on ESPN Classic about four years ago, but that was before we had Directv and DVR. This will be one I'm going to record and keep in the permanent collection. It was just neat to hear Harry and Jimmy doing the call and seeing the old Sox pajama uniforms again.

Late on Friday Night my friend who is a diehard Tigers fan flipped it to MLB network and it was just at the Podsednik home run part and he told me to shut up before I said anything about that being the best day of my life.

ALCS game 5 is also on this upcoming Saturday. I might be blind right now, but I didn't see it on I's list.
