Is Gene Honda doing the Final 4 again like every year?

Man, part of the treat of opening day is getting his voice on the intros along with Nancy.

I feel cheated on opening day when Tom Shaer is on the mic. He sucks.

Yes, hes probably doing the Final Four.

We will also run into this problem when the Hawks are in the playoffs, which hopefully lasts deep into May.

For one reason or another my favorite Gene Honda introductions have always been Ray Durham and Juan Uribe, but now I have niether. I'm sure Gene can find a new name to impress me with.

I'm guessing he'll be doing the final four for his sixth straight year, but I couldn't find anything with a quick google search.

Are you sure about that? I thought the Hawks were just an offseason gig.

I'd be all for Gene doing games during the beloved Hawks' playoff run if it meant we'd get to hear Harvey Wittenberg once again announce some more Hawks games. I REALLY miss Harvey, and this would be a win-win situation.

Harvey did a game I was at a couple of weeks ago. I think Gene had the Big Ten Tourney, anyway, Harvey was starting to sound his age, but it did bring back memories. His "one minute remaining in the period" has to be the best.

I wouldn't be upset if Gene was doing playoff games for the Hawks. I am sure he would do playoff games for the Sox instead of regular season for the Hawks....

He is the Hawks PA announcer as much as he is the SOX, plan and simple. I see no reason he wouldnt be doing Hawks playoff games.

Sox are also out of town for most of the 1st round, anyways

The Final Four is 3 games. This is a team that plays 82. I believe he also does DePaul basketball, and is the voice of Channel 11.
Gene has quite a background outside our Sox.
