Basically, we're at the equivalent of being down 3-2 in a 7 game series. It doesn't matter who faces us Tuesday if Tuesday doesn't happen. However, if we play like we did today- we should be able to pull it off and be playing October baseball. There was just enough offense and clutch hitting, smart base running, fantastic starting pitching, two solid innings from the bullpen. Basically, everything you're supposed to do to win baseball games that we've been missing lately.
Let's hope this was more than a dying gasp. ~Steve |

I wouldn't want the entire season to lie on the shoulders of Clayton Richard! You'd HAVE to go with Danks on Tuesday.

The Tigers played really well against the Rays at home this weekend. We better watchout tomorrow. That's a team with a lot of talent who want to prove something.
Does anybody have a scouting report on Freddy since his return? What's his velocity and pitch selection? |

A) He's tiring, it's obvious. B) He sucks against the Twins no matter where the game is played. |

This is why Mark Buehrle is getting paid, and why he's our ace. Thank you, Mr. Buehrle!
Now hopefully Gavin follows suit tomorrow. |

Run like heck on him. Make him throw a lot at each at-bat.

We should know him real well. But yeah...he shut down a Rangers team in Texas. He did get his ass kicked by KC. It'll be interesting. I won't be watching the game for the first two hours though...

THIS is what we pay Buerhle for and unlike other starters (Javy, cough cough) he come through! We just need to win two more games, we can do this!

If anyone had any doubt why the Sox were willing to break team policy and give Mark four years instead of three, this afternoon was it.
One of the few guys on this team who appears to truly care regardless of how much money he makes. It means something to him. Short rest, season on the line, 121 pitches in his previous outing. And then he goes seven strong innings, allows one run and throws 111 more pitches. Mark Buehrle has the guts of a burglar and the gonads to match. If only some of his teammates (I'm looking at you #33, #18, #30, #24) gave a damn as much as Mark this thing would have been done last week. I hope this may inspire some of his teammates to play well tomorrow...it would be ironic if Freddy ended things (especially after the Sox talked internally and decided to pass on signing him this Summer.)
