Default Rickwood Classic

I flew on Southwest yesterday and the feature article in their Spirit magazine was a photo essay of the Rickwood Classic.

The Rickwood Classic is an annual game where the Birmingham Barons play hosts at Rickwood Field, the oldest ballpark in America (1910). This year was the twelfth season the Barons have done this and the game took place on May 30. The Barons won, 3-2.

The company I work for owns a building in Birmingham. We had meetings down there over the summer, and I flew into Birmingham the morning after this year's game.

Poor POOR POOR planning on Bucky's part.
It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. - A.
