Allen has been promoted to Charlotte as well.

Danks has been placed on the DL.

I believe it is a wrist injury stemming from a HBP a few days ago.

Also, Omogrosso was promoted to Charlotte as well.

Tyler Flowers is not long for AA either, unless they want to keep him with that coaching staff to work on his defensive catching.

Over his last 10 games: 10/34 (.294), 7 of the 10 hits are XBH (3 2B, 1 3B, 3 HR), 16 K (bad), 5 BB. He just homered in two straight games, both games at Birmingham.

His current line of .284/.433/.532 (.964 OPS) at a pitcher's park is pretty remarkable. It's also encouraging that despite the .040 difference in batting average on his home/away splits, the OPS is steady. His power is clearly big-time and for real.

Indeed. With Gordo now in the majors, Flowers is easily the organization's top prospect. He is a monster with the bat and many say it could play in the bigs right now. He still has alot of work to do behind the dish which is why he likely won't be seen until mid 2010 at the earliest. Who knows when he will join the Knights, but it is nice to see some actual prospects going to Charlotte (Allen, Omogrosso) to replace the retreads and busts that occupy that roster.

Allen goes 3-4 with 2 2B's and 1 RBI in his AAA debut.

With the meh-ness of the current MLB club, I'm pretty darned excited about seeing some of these talented bats progress.

About Jordan Danks Injury

Sounds like it could be more serious then initially thought.

This Brandon Allen move has got me thinking of a couple scenarios here. I don't see why he would be promoted as I believe the pitching is better in AA (so I hear). The only reason I could see him being promoted is because the Sox are getting ready to call him up which could mean 2 possible scenarios, either Thome or Konerko are going on the DL soon or Kenny is getting ready to trade one of the two.

Or I could be absolutely wrong and the competition in AAA is actually better than AA and the move had more to do with the two A ballers who were called up and Allen and Omogrosso were called up since they were the ones who were most deserving of a promotion.

You will probably find more upside guys in the AA level, but at AAA you have the more polished guys, veterans, and many ex-majorleaguers. It will also have more guys that throw breaking balls, which is good practice for Allen when he reaches the majors and is a bandbox park which gets him used to US Cellular

Cowley's Twitter

And by splinter he obviously means splint.

He apparently has a great slider and solid command. Probably a potential #4 starter if he keeps this up. I don't expect a major regression in his numbers at Birmingham, if only because he throws strikes and is pitching in a major pitcher's park.

I honestly don't know much about his stuff though, I just looked up some (crappy) reports quickly. I'd imagine he is a lower-ceiling type from what I have seen/read.
