Try 40,000+ when the Sox are contending again!

By the way, yesterday he hit another dinger, walked twice, and had a steal.

It's going to make OH-EH-OH, MAGGLIO sound like a solitary sparrow chirping in a vacant lot

Alec Hansen hasn't made any appearances since his July 29 outing and his subsequent demotion to W-S on Aug 2. Does this mean that he's working out his mechanics and control issues with Zaleski in bullpen sessions only? Or is he officially hurt again?

Seby Zavala 3 for 5 tonight with a double. Nice to see his bat coming around after a slow start to his promotion to AAA.
Another good outing by Guerrero. 6.0 IP, 1 ER, 6 H, 1 BB, 7 K
Burr with his 4th straight scoreless 1.0 IP outing since moving up to AAA.

Birmingham explodes with TEN runs in the 9th to win 18-2.
Collins 3 for 6 with 2 HR, Basabe 1 for 4 with a HR, Booker 3 for 5
Cease: 5.2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 5 BB, 6 K

Madrigal with a 2B, Forbes with a 3B, and Gonzalez with a HR for W-S.

Lots of good happening in the Farm tonight along with the Barons.

*Guerrero solid again for the Knights. Quietly becoming a sleeper here.

*Gonzalez hit another HR at WS. This guy is going to be real good.

Great to see prospects in our system who aren't the headline-grabbing names doing well this season. We have a ton of good OF depth in the minors after the 2 potential studs (Jimenez and Robert).

Just looking at the 2017 draft alone, fans have expressed a lot of concern about Burger and to some extent Sheets, but Gonzalez (3rd round) is looking like a great pick. Others like Tyler Johnson, Battenfield, and Rivera have done well too.

The Birmingham pitching coaches (Dotson, etc.) seem like they've done a really nice job this year- nice to see Adams, Stephens and now Guerrero coming "back to life" as prospects.

Birmingham should be one loaded team in 2019.

I think Alex Call will be excellent trade fodder. The guy is beginning to play to his potential, but is sixth or seventh in the depth chart behind Luis Gonzalez. That's the problem with having so much depth in the outfield. There is a solid chance we will have to trade potentially good players. Alex Call has good power, and has decent speed.

Greatest Arsenal goal I have ever witnessed. Chills to this day watching it.

An interesting night on the farm as far as starting pitching goes:
Charlotte: Kopech
Birmingham: Medeiros (acquired for Soria)
W-S: Hansen (trying to get back on track)
Great Falls: Pilkington (3rd round pick in this year's draft)

Eventually, if all these OF prospects continue to perform as they've done, many of them will serve as good trading chips to fill other areas where the Sox aren't as deep. If Jimenez and Robert turn out to be the studs for us, that leaves one OF spot for Rutherford, Adolfo, Basabe, Walker, and Gonzalez to compete for. That's a lot of talent there.

Not sure why but Hansen was pulled after 2 innings. 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 1 K. 39 pitches, 21 strikes.

That doesn't sound good for Hansen. He had the 2 consecutive walks in the 2nd inning, but otherwise his numbers didn't look horrible - certainly not enough to get yanked. I hope it doesn't mean he was pulled because he was hurt. Sheesh, what a lousy year for him.

Eloy and Kopech have been studs. Whether it's this year or right after 4/12/19, I can't wait to see these two guys come up to the majors.

I know Rodon is a FA after 2021 and is a Boras client, which puts his future here in question, but I still dream of a dominant Sox pitching rotation lead by Rodon, Kopech, and Cease in a couple of years.
