That's because nobody is calling because they are rushing to their computers to call for Yoan to be sent to Great Falls and Eloy to be brought up five minutes ago.

Jon Lester showed us all today why xFIP is a valuable stat.

Absolutely. He has been screaming regression since May, and here it finally is.

Son. Of. A. Bitch. Nats lead, 3-0, going into the ninth, and Bote hits a grand slam. That's what both the Cubs and the Nats do. Summed up in one at-bat.

Bote with a pinch hit walk off Grand Slam with 2 outs in the 9th to give the Cubs a 4-3 win. Where do they keep finding these guys to call up and contribute?

Places our scouts never look. That's why we are where we are.

More like **** the Nats for underachieving this year. You can't blame teams for being good, but the Nats had a shot to do something special this year and ****ed it all up.

Madson was a one pitch pitcher that entire inning and he sat on his underwhelming fastball. The Nationals are going nowhere fast this year.

I feel the Sox have been losing for so long that a "culture of losing" has set in and the opposite is true of the Cubs. They find guys who get it done. It starts at the top with ownership and works its way down...and having all that money solves a LOT of problems.

The Sox?

Well this rebuild better work as they are about to have their sixth straight losing season. The last time that happened was 1944-1950.

I became a Sox fan in part because they were a better team than the Cubs at the time I first got into sports. The thought of the opposite being true throughout my adult life makes me shudder.

The question is how do the Nats keep finding ways to blow games?
