I feel like the extra wait will actually helps the Nats as it allows them to rest both Scherzer and Strasburg so they can be plenty fresh for the World Series.

This leaves the Mariners as the only franchise in baseball that has never made the World Series.

Nationals should be well-rested, with a week off before the Series starts on Tuesday in either New York or Houston.

If the Astros win the AL, it will mark only the second-ever all-expansion World Series, the first being back in 2015 when the Royals played the Mets. It would also end the Yankees' streak of making it to the World Series in every decade since the 1920's (if you count the decade as 2010-2019).

I'd bet 1994 was more of a sticking point. But maybe there is a core...

I have also been informed that yesterday was Bryce Harper's birthday as well.

The NLCS couldn't have had a better outcome. I'm pulling for the Nationals the rest of the way. They've looked ever since they finally had a healthy squad.

Nice.

Pretty sure they are in the postseason now. Unless the streak is something else?

First off, I was blown away that Montreal has 4 million people. Learned something new today, thank you.....
But I would have to think that Mexico City would be the largest North American City without MLB representation. The baseball franchises there are technically correct and I appreciate your wording. Cool facts...

Jeff Passan is saying game 4 of the ALCS has been postponed. I assume this is because of weather?

This has been predicted for awhile now. Not surprised by this.

I'm guessing he meant "World Series" for the Yanks' streak. 2009 was their last appearance in the WS.

The last time the World Series featured two first time teams was 1906, when the White Sox played the Cubs. Now that the Nationals have won the NL pennant, there can be no more matchups of two first-timers. 1906 stands as the last one.
