Mohoney, I am never sure is you're being sarcastic or not.

I remember the largest outdoor tavern comments, the fights, the blue collar nature of the crowd being applied to Comisky and the fans juxtaposed to the friendly confines, the neighborhood, the hip bars packed with the college educated and that reality being pushed.

All this attitude accelerated quickly after Caray moved over. I just got tired of it and walked away.

I loved going to Wrigley; hitting those stairs and seeing the ivy. Now it's an amusement park.

Naw, you can keep it all: the park, the neighborhood, the players, the management and the owners.

Go White Sox!

I use teal-colored font when I’m being sarcastic. Many Cub fans are reprehensible for the exact reason you mentioned. I have come across it, too.

Gregorz and Mohoney,

I know what you mean and it's a discussion that I've declined to get into a number of times. I am not going to counter some creep who's ridiculing Sox fans for having minimum wage jobs or whatever by explaining that many I know are professionals, business owners, skilled labor etc. (though that's true) because I don't want to even appear as though I am buying into such an ugly premise. Having been brought up to believe there is dignity in human labor and no shame in any honest line of work -- thank God -- I don't play like that. If they are happy with their undated Wubs flags flying in perpetuity (even while they proceed to lose the division lead) and the lurid theme park the owners have turned that neighborhood into, that says all I need to know about their "class."

There was a survey a few years back that showed both Sox and Cub fans had a very similar demographic. Anyway, I agree. Everything around the Cubs today is cheap, overdone and often rancid. We'll see how it plays out for them in the postseason.

From the standpoint of a wild card team!

The Cubs might be finished by tomorrow night. Amazing how it's come to this.

The Cubs should be out there celebrating their Wild Card Championship!

Key to the game was Santana's double down the line past Bryant in the 8th because Joe says "I don't guard the line." Get out the pitchforks, Cubbies.

So who matches up better against the northside team, the Rockies or Dodgers. I feel the Dodgers have a better chance in a 1 game wild card. The Dodgers offense against Lester. Not sure.

What does everyone else think?

The Dodgers are postseason chumps. I probably would prefer the Rockies, but then again, I want the Rockies to beat the Dodgers.

Dodgers were in game 7 of the WS last year. They've won plenty of big postseason games the last few years.

If the Cubs and/or the Yankees lose in their wild card games, we'll suddenly see more calls for MLB to review the concept in its entirety from the media. Book it.
