This isn't a game-specific comment, but wasn't sure where else to post it.

I didn't realize until the other day that the Diamondbacks have installed artificial turf for their playing surface at Chase Field starting this year. They've had a difficult time growing grass there over the last 21 years.

Too bad. I was hoping that MLB would be free of artificial turf some day with talk of the Blue Jays looking into the feasibility of installing natural grass at the Rogers Centre and the Rays looking for a new ballpark.

It now looks like that'll never happen with the D-Backs adding fake grass, the Blue Jays' effort hitting a dead end, and there's also talk of the Marlins adding fake grass due to difficulties with growing grass at their ballpark.

The good news is that the news is that the new turf at Chase Field reportedly looks very much like natural grass. Has anyone been out to that park this year who can report back on how the playing surface looks?

Grammatical correction. The system won't let me edit the error in my post.

Seems to be a glitch when you try to edit a post with a hyperlink in it. Not sure why.

The outfielder goes into the stands, but the ball does not

This London game is nuts. Itís a 6-6 tie...in the 1st inning. Porcello got 1 out, Tanaka got 2.

"Aaron Hicks grinned broadly as he rounded the bases in the first inning on Saturday, having slugged the first Major League home run hit on European soil."

The game is a joke.

Five teams scored in double digits today, another team scored nine runs, and two more teams scored seven runs. The Yankees have homered in 30 straight games.
