Default Abreu, Anderson not totally out of contention in All Star Game voting

https://www.mlb.com/news/al-all-star...update-june-10

Abreu is 3rd place and Anderson is 4th place but they're both only 100,000 or so votes out of first place. McCann a very, very distant second at catcher.

If Abreu and Anderson get and stay hot, respectively, they could have a shot.

There's always the fans (kids?) that go through the ballot and just pick a player from their favorite team for each position.

I mean, I know old people who do this. But All-Star voters have been doing it a lot less than they were 15 years ago.

Do you have an alternative explanation of how over 70,000 ballots got filled out with Alonso's name for the DH spot?

Machado told his BFFs to vote for him.

Why do you think Jon Jay has been on the IL so long and what do you think he has been doing?

Lot of you guys hate him more than necessary. He isn't horrible, can play CF and get on base; in an OF of mediocre players, he'll fit right in. Resembles Leury some, who will likely lose playing time. I'm thinking back to our early season lineups where there were three outfielders batted 7,8,9. For what are supposed to be offense first positions, that was a cryin' shame. As much as we liked Engel, the team is better with him gone.
