Depends on your definition of "quality." In the early going Pittsburgh and Texas are showing much better than expected results and Atlanta figures to be contending this year again as well.

Pittsburgh is 25 out of 30 in OPS and runs scored per game.

Appears the Cubs feel threatened by the impending coverage of Addison Russell's return, so they might be taking matters into their own hands.

The weekly Jewel flyer in your Wednesday paper features the introduction of Joe Maddon's Maddon Family Pasta Sauce. Shades of Pizza Man.

So was Santo, except for the Swedish mother. Joe's father is Italian. His mother is Polish. But I know Polish folks who make some mighty fine Italian food. I think the original name was Madonnini or something like it.

And they're back in first place after sweeping the Cardinals, culminating with a Sunday Night Baseball blowout that included a Bryant grand slam. Looks like we're in for another season of magic on the North Side and who knows what on ours.

Have faith: it's a long season.

I think most of us can guess what "our" season is going to be like.

I think the Cubs, Cardinals, and Brewers are going to be battling it out for the top spot all the way to the end of the season. The Brewers were red hot in the first two weeks of April, the Cards were red hot the second half of April, and now the Cubs are the hot team. It's probably going to be like this all season in that division.

That's what I've figured, too. I just hate that this one is timed with a weekend in which the Red Sox embarrassed the White Sox to the delight of Cubs fans who have adopted the Red Sox as a second team. It was a perfect weekend for them.

Here’s something I just found out-the White Sox outdrew the Cubs on Sunday. But as Rick Morrissey and other passionate Cubbie fans and the Chicago media (pardon the redundancy) will tell you, that was only because so many Red Sox fans came out to GRate, while there was nary a Cardinal fan in sight at Wrigley.

Are we going to have a party to celebrate the 1 day attendance title? I mean, the Cubs have a better record, but the Sox outdrew them! That’s what’s most important! Who’s with me?
