I don't think they will trade Colome or Abreu, but they certainly should be open to it. Teams have made big gains in July and the Sox need big gains.

I haven't been able see him in action much behind the plate. How have his catching skills looked? His defense as catcher has been a huge question mark since being draft with many analysts saying he's not likely to stick at catcher.
I think he is up here right now as an internship, the Sox want him to learn from McCann on how to catch and prepare.

Collins has been sent back down to Charlotte. Another move will be made tomorrow.

It will be Castillo coming back. He's been in rehab starts for a while now. I'm guessing they tried to move him but couldn't get a taker so they were forced to activate him. Though, who knows, maybe Mercedes is coming up. He's been wrecking the pitching in AAA since his promotion.

FutureSox with a nice writeup about Collins' role in the organization moving forward, and the reasons behind the demotion:

one small move i would suggest is just moving on from Tilson. His bat is worse than Engel's and his D is nothing special.

He's just one of a bunch of AAAA players on the team.

Yeah, and unfortunately we donít have anyone else to take their place right now.

Robert will eventually take one OF slot and Madrigal will take second base, and this will push the likes of Yolmer and Leury to the bench, and will push the likes of Tilson and Rondon off the roster entirely.

All true. Garcia and Sanchez are perfectly suitable bench players on a good team.

Engel. He's a lot better; and is hitting better than he has ever hit in AAA.

Thatís absolutely correct! Engel is a above average outfielder defensively and a very poor hitter! He has proved that time and time again. Engel is never going to be anything but a defensive replacement.

Replacing Tilson with Engel will improve the OF defense but I donít believe it will have much effect on the lineup. Either way they are all just AAAA filler until Robert arrives.

He's ONLY hitting for power. he's not hitting for average or OBP. If he was hitting for average and had high OBP I would be more likely to believe his numbers would carry over, but if he can't consistently reach base, the power numbers won't translate to the majors. They never have before, not sure why we'd assume he would now.

Edit: After checking, I see Engel's average and OBP have improved while his power numbers have dropped a bit. I still don't see how we can trust him to replicate it in the majors. He's not beating the team average OPS in Charlotte.
