Default Hahn Updates On Injuries...

Went on the radio this morning. Key points:

Robert will start hitting in 7-10 days, be in Arizona to play, and hopefully at W-S by the end of the month.

Hansen's forearm thing is "resolved". He's on a throwing program, and will throw his first bullpen in Arizona next week.

Great news on Hansen. Let's hope they are right.

At first, I thought you posted that Robert will be in the World Series, but then realized you meant Winston Salem.

2020.

Great news. I can't wait to start following these guys in action in a few weeks.

Hahn was in St. Louis for the series and talked about A. Garcia today. He said Avi had a "Grade-2" hamstring strain and it would be at least a few weeks before he was active again.

I'm guessing he's gone a month including a rehab assignment.

The way he was playing though it's not like he was making a big impact. And you can forget about being able to flip him for something.

Here are injury updates (Rodon, Garcia, Robert, Hansen, and Gonzalez) from Rick Hahn today (bottom of this article):

Here's the latest as of 5/17 from Hahn:

Rodon will throw at Kanny on Saturday

Gonzales had a set back, won't throw for at least 10 -14 days.

Avi progressing slowly through Grade 2 hammy strain, no timeline given

Alec Hansen continues to progress, and is throwing bullpens.

Robert is participating in extended training, expected to join game action late this month in Extended ST, will likely hit W-S in early June, probably play in the Arizona Fall League.

Assuming Rodon or Kopech join the big club, I'd guess Gonzales is gone.

Gonzalez is better than Volstad.

True but Gonzales apparently can't even throw the baseball right now given his "relapse."

And hell the ghost of Billy Pierce is better than a half dozen of these stiffs on the staff.

Have to check with a trainer-friend I know to get his take and how often this happens.

Why do you put anything related to injuries in quotes like the Sox are lying?

Withholding the truth is a form of lying to be fair.

Because those are the "direct" quotes from Hahn, not me saying it in a recap. Hahn is the expert on these matters not me. I didn't want anyone thinking this was my opinion of the situation, was quoting him directly.

No snark there Brian.

Or they send Giolito down to work on stuff.
