Default Madrigal comparison

Does anyone think that Nick will be a Nellie Fox kind of player?
Is that who he compares to most?

The comparison a lot of people made in the draft was Jose Altuve, due to both size and approach. But I don't think he has the kind of power upside.

Best comp I've heard is IF Ichiro Suzuki (except he just can't hit for power--not that he just tries not to). If he reaches that, I'd be freaking thrilled.

Nellie Fox is a tough comparison, that is a HOF player and a big ask of the kid.

Altuve is also unfair, its mostly a size comparison.

He is a gap hitter who might grow into 10-15 home run power with a low K%.

Guys he compares a lot like - Jose Peraza, Placido Polanco, Ian Kinsler, Whit Merified

I'd love it if he got to Ian Kinsler's level. Kinsler had a terrific peak and is a borderline HOF player right now.

Itís unfortunate, but I donít think Kinsler will get any Hall of Fame hype. Look at how guys like Bobby Grich, Lou Whitaker, and Willie Randolph have been passed over for enshrinement.

Kinsler has almost 250 career homers with seasons of 32, 31, and 28. Thatís a bit better than a gap/doubles profile.

Grich and Whitaker also have over 200 career homers.

Think he was comparing him to Madrigal.

For me, the best comp for Madrigal would be Dustin Pedrioa with more speed, a little less pop.

Also Placido Polanco with more speed, doubles.
