Default Midseason Top 30 Prospects - FutureSox

Just thought I'd throw this out there. FutureSox has released their Midseason Top 30 White Sox Prospects list. Any thoughts or discussion?

It's nice to see draft picks making their way up the rankings. I'm really liking what I see from Luis Gonzalez!

I don't have any big arguments against how the prospects were ranked. If anything I'd say I'm not quite so high on Collins and I wouldn't put him at #6. It sounds like there are still some serious doubts as to whether he'll stick as a catcher and if he doesn't stick at C, he's not nearly as valuable of a prospect. He has been a mixed bag offensively so far in his minor league career.

Other than that.....Wow - lots of talent in that top 15! Prospects 16-30 aren't as exciting, of course, but there's still some interesting names on the back half of the top 30 - Hamilton, Sheets, Johnson, and some of the starting pitchers listed. I'm eager to see Bryce Bush crack that Top 30 in 2019.

By the way, for Burdi the write up says that he should be back at Charlotte this month. I can't find a link to confirm this, but I thought I read somewhere where Rick Hahn said he'll stay in the AZL for the rest of the season. Am I remembering that right?

Great list, thanks for sharing. I don't have any big disagreements of how they are ranked. I still have high hopes for Burger's hitting ability, but I doubt we'll see him in action until mid-season next year at the earliest.

Madrigal and Walker (deservedly) get most of the attention among this year's picks, but it'll be interesting to see how Pilkington does for us next season.

Also, I like the "Just Missed" list at the end of the article. Several intriguing names there: Bush, Burr, McClure (who unfortunately when down with a knee injury early on and is out for the season), Forbes, Puckett, Stiever. Forbes might not be a high ceiling guy, but he has done well this year and we got him for only 1 month of Miguel Gonzalez last season.

It'll be interesting to see how Lenyn Sosa (#24 on this list) progresses. Like Bryce Bush, he's only 18 and is current playing at Great Falls. He's hitting .307 in 46 games there, but has struck out 3 times as often as he's walked. It looks like the Sox signed him out of Venezuela two years ago at age 16.
