Good calls by Renteria to go with Rodon to start the 8th and Soria for the 4-out save. Asking that pourous middle relief to cover only one out is highly recommended, especially after St. Louis already saw all those guys yesterday.

Nice
Omar had that gaudy walk total last year, and he's putting it together this year. Turing into a Jason Kendall type - the sabre guys overrated him back in his day, but he was still pretty good.

For a guy who can barely move out of a crouch to block an errant pitch, Omar really showed some wheels on Tim Anderson's triple.

I got an unexpected invite to go to this game and was glad I took advantage. Rodon looked really sharp. He was Buehrle-esque in his pace, just catching it and throwing it. If the 8th inning hadn't gone so long, it probably would have been a 2 hour 30 minute game.

#bustwatch made two bonehead mistakes, then made up for them with a triple and an insurance run scored.

This game got me to .500 for the first time this year.

If only Carlos Rodon could stay healthy ... so much talent, could be an ace.

Props to Minaya for getting the huge strikeout in the 8th with the bases loaded. I didn't expect that.

Absolutely. When he's healthy he's been pretty good. He's still young so there's time but I hope he becomes our ace. His slider is as good as Sale's.

Rodon was dirty. Hard to believe he's only 25 given how long we've been seeing him. I feel like he's destined to put it all together and have at least a couple All-Star seasons sooner or later, I just hope it's while he's in a White Sox uniform.

As for Moncada... you can fix the concentration/fundamental issues in the field. You can't teach turning around a fastball at 102 with filthy movement and legging a triple out of it. Not a bad night!

Nice night to be out there. Rodon was excellent. Work quickly, throw strikes. Good concept.

Even though there were a ton of Cardinals fans, it was cool to see over 26,000 in the park.

The Sox' victory also helped ease the pain of Rondon being DFA'd. That and now the scoreboard informs you as to what a pitcher's entrance music is

Rodon is a really good pitcher and if he can finally stay healthy he's a big piece going forward.
