That's probably a good idea. He needs to bring the walks down. I keep trying to reassure myself that through the first two hundred innings of Gavin Floyd's career he looked pretty awful and then had a really good 2008 and was a respectable fourth starter. I'm hoping Giolito can do that too.

Gavin was also a highly-touted prospect who ended up doing worse than his pedigree. Good comparison!

I like the Floyd comparison. Frustrating as hell sometimes, but he was always good for a five or six week stretch once or twice a year where he was completely unhittable. If that's what Giolito is, fine. There's higher upside arms in the system, and plenty of money for free agents down the line.
