I have been a Bill Melton fan since coming of age as a baseball fan, but I can't believe San Diego media was imaging Bill Melton's offense when there were columns suggesting Manny Machado could become the greatest hitter in Padres history, particularly hyperbolic considering the local talent remembered with a statue outside the ballpark.

The home town tv media is now a mouthpiece for a clubs ownership, back with melton it obviously wasnt, that is why you are hearing what you heard.

The Cubs caught Ty France trying to steal home tonight. Then Brad Wieck threw the ball straight to the backstop. It was pretty funny.

Did the Pirates' pitching staff miss the flight to Chicago this past weekend forcing the team to use volunteers in their place?

That series set baseball back to the stone age.

Good for what ails you, weren't they? Wind out of the west the old ballpark is a launching pad. I've seen it make some bozos look like baseball players, for a while that is...

The Nationals pull ahead in the WC race. It's great to see because of their use of the sacrifice bunt, steals, avoiding strikeouts and getting on base via the walk. Patrick Corbin is pitching well in the flame thrower era despite not being a flamethrower. Their starters, older by league averages, have thrown sixty-five percent of the teams innings. The Nats bullpen is their weakness but that can be said for many teams out there.

The Cards lead the division, the Brewers have pulled into a tie with the Cubs for a WC spot. Just another team for the Cubs to jump.
