I'm definitely an advocate of keeping Narvaez on board. I don't think the Sox have any can't miss position prospects out side of Moncada, Jimenez and Robert, which is a lot to begin with, so we might need him in the long term. Castillo and Narvaez could be a well above average combo if he continues to develop. Then again, we might have Collins and Zavala by 2020. Nice to have options, I don't remember the Sox having this kind of organizational depth at catcher. I just can't see a downside however I look at it.

He's an upgrade to work with the young pitchers..plus price...what's not to love about this deal

Agreed. It's a good move with low risk to boot. Even if Castillo completely flops, the contract won't be a franchise altering mistake. It's not going to preclude the team from taking a run at free agents when the contending window opens.
