Default Sporcle Saturday: Top White Sox pitching performances since 1970

This is ranked using Bill James game score metric. I got 21/24, I had no chance at the three I missed and and only remembered one in 2011 because I was watching the game with a Twins fan.

!9/24 and missed some big names. Pitching was my best shot at getting a good score.

I scored 20. Forgot all about the 9/5/11 name, might have gotten 9/9/83 with more time. Two 70s guys, no chance.

15/24. My brain is mush tonight and I haven't even been drinking. There are only two names on that list, 9/5/11 and 9/21/15, that I can forgive myself for not remembering. Really had a hard time with the 80's again but I should have had those guys.

Was trying to remember if I attended the 9-16-83 game.

I remember that pitcher racking up double digit strikeouts in a late summer game, but I also remember it was the night Lenn Sakata broke his 0-for-66 streak against the Sox. A quick check of retrosheet confirms I actually went to the Baltimore/Sox game on 8-11-83.

Funny how you remember things. I was looking at the box score of the 9-9-83 game. I remember this game like it was yesterday because it was the game Fisk, Paciorek and Luzinski hit back to back to back homers.

22/24. I missed 2011 and 2015. I’ve tried hard to forget both of those guys.

19 of 24. First rule of ChiSox Sporcle: if it is a pitching question, answer Wilbur Wood.
