But none of us here has had a non competitive stretch that we are going through now. I just want a summer of competitive baseball, Im getting older by the minute.

The time period from 1968 through 1980 was equally as bad plus you had Comiskey Park falling apart, rumors of the team moving, limited financial ability from two owners and a general sense of malaise except for 1972 and 1977.

It was pretty bad indeed.

I know but at least there were times during that period when there was competitive summer baseball not 6 consecutive years with none.

That must have been a heck of a time to be a Sox fan. All I know is 1 amazing year, a handful of good to great years, and lots and lots of mediocre to flat out bad years.
