On paper, they are the best team in the division.

Also, they are the last team in the top 4 (Dodgers, Braves, Nationals, cubs), and its not close.

My hope is that one, either the Brewers or Cardinals, can push them to the wild card game. As it is now, playing the nationals with a 1 game playoff would not be wanted, with the Nationals starting staff.

Things went from bad to worse after their 8-0 beatdown.

Didn't impact them much today as they beat Milwaukee fairly easily this afternoon

Milwaukee was a flash in the pan. Hopefully, they now have the pitching they need to move forward and a manager wise enough not to go to gimmicks as he did with his pitching staff last year.

In addition to the injuries, I think the Cubs have a more games on the road in the second-half, where they have been abysmal. The disparity between how they play at home and on the road makes me wonder if they're stealing signs or something.

I don't think their offensive splits are much different home vs. away. Their pitching splits are much worse on the road.

I just don't get how they can be so bad on the road. It's not like they're playing in the Metrodome or some sort of stadium where they would have an inherent advantage due to some weird stadium quirk.

No Cheater Basket on the road. Two of their homers last night landed there and they won by one run.

Ironically, they've hit more homers on the road than they have at home. It does seem like the biggest gap is their pitching on the road, which is just weird. Like I would get why teams like the Dodgers and Giants would have such drastic road splits, but given Wrigley's reputation as a hitter's park, you'd think they'd do better (or at least as well) on the road as they do at home. Weird.

When he goes rotten, it's early and ugly. Kudos to the manager for leaving him in to eat some innings.
