I could see why the Marlins fans are upset. I somewhat understand why the owner blew up the team after the 2012 season. I can't understand why he blew up the team and wound up with an old team of players who are past there prime. When your lineup features Pierre, Kearns, Polanco and Olivo, you're not exactly building a team with a bright future.

Now they're closing the upper deck for some games:

Saw the report on the Marlins on HBO's Real Sports last night, Sampson came across as someone who isn't willing to come to grips with reality.

Uncle Bud needs to step in and rescue the franchise.

This is far worse than what was going on with the Dodgers when Selig forced McCourt out, the difference is that Loira is one of Selig's guys. McCourt wasn't.

Short of just giving the city of Miami a ****load of money to help pay off the debt they had to take on to build this ugly ass ballpark nobody goes to, I'm not sure what he can do exactly

I guess if the SEC finds him guilty of illegal activities he can be forced out by Bud but that will probably take a few years to work through the court system.

The decision to put pro baseball in Miami was and is a horrible decision. There isn't a market there to support it. And now the local government has injected themselves into a market to "create jobs" but in the end, they and the tax payers are trying to support a market where there isn't one.
Even if the owner of the Marlins wasn't a slimeball and the Marlins were good, the fans won't support the team. They should cut their losses and move to San Antonio. |

San Antonio is to small of a city in my opinion. Same as Portland and Salt Lake City. If MLB feels the need to move anywhere I suspect the only really viable candidates are Montreal or maybe...maybe...Vancouver.

I would think the only place to move to would be to New Jersey. Put a baseball stadium somewhere near the football stadium where the Giants and Jets play. I don't know if the Yankees/Mets would have territorial rights there or not.

I would think they do, but I agree with you in that's about the only legitimate market that could support a baseball team right now. Maybe Montreal if Selig and Loria hadn't ****ed them so hard.
