It's gonna come down to the last week of the season. The entire National League is.

How nice would it be to see Milwaukee and St. Louis leap the Cubs?

I'm all about the last game chaos. I hope half the National league has a shot at a wildcard slot or division winner on the very last game of the season. Makes for great baseball viewing!

If that happens, one of the teams out west likely will too.

The Bad Guys have 3 games left against the Reds and against us. So, six games against bottom feeders. I sure hope those 2 series don't end up being a cake walk for the Flubs. ....though the Brewers have 3 games vs. the Reds, too.

I'm just glad that it's unlikely they'll be celebrating a playoff berth in our ballpark. Don't want anything like that to overshadow Hawk's final game.

I'm hoping that today is the last day the Cubs spend in first place. And if that makes me a bad person, so be it!!

Not to be, unfortunately. Brewers could not solve Quintana.

2 of 3 by the Brewers . Solid series. Back to 1 game. Their bullpen is filthy. Hader with 3ip and 9 K's. Crazy.

Putting that doubt in their heads.

Off to golf in a few minutes with one of us and one of them. I'll try to keep the needling subtle. He's sensitive.

I though Scherzer was scheduled to start for the Nats today, but now I see Ross is pitching. So sick of hearing about the poor Cubs having to travel and play on a scheduled day-off in close proximity to Hurricane Florence.

You'll love this Facebook post then:

MLB has really screwed the Cubs over here. CBA says that the players have to agree to playing on more than 20 consecutive dates. Cubs agreed to it for the Braves makeup, and MLB decided that means they can schedule them on 30 straight by scheduling the makeup with the Nats. Cubs just look mentally fried out there at the most important time all season. Purely psychologically, they need to get to their last day off next Thursday. A lot can happen to a 1 game lead over the course of a week. Cubs will be in the playoffs, but 1 game playoff is not where they want to be. Brewers just look better right now. Panic level is at code yellow.

Not laughing at Strop getting injured, but at the Cubs misfortune.
