That's bad. Add in the fact his velocity was down which directly correlated to a higher BB% and lower K%, and you have some cause for concern. I really hope Rodon can recover from whatever's ailing him as he's shown flashes of true #1 capabilities. They were banking on it when they traded Sale away.

Well, I was thinking the 2018 Carlos Rodon minus his last 2 starts which were just brutal and inflated his stats. His velocity was a bit down, but not alarmingly so. With Carlos it's his command more than anything else.

If the Sox share the evaluation that Rodon is a success, then it's no bloody wonder......
Yes I know - we've established that nothing is his fault- from TAtis, Shields, Fulmer, drafting ceiling college relievers in round 1, the 3 headcases, the record Ks and consistently low OBP....all just bad luck

Fulmer isn't' his fault (even though he drafted him and rushed him). Tatis - nope; Shields- nope; headcases Laroche, Keppinger and Lawrie--nope.
78 wins with Sale, Eaton, Q and numerous FA signings....nope, not Hahn's fault. etc, etc, etc.

Riding shotgun on the Sox bandwagon since before there was an Internet...
