The Astros are getting slammed in the media, with the worst example IMO is the Baseball Tonight crew saying they're a 49 win team, and the AL West division winner is the one who beats up on them the most.
I think they're improved over last years 55-107 roster in the pitching staff, the lineup, the new manager and the number of good prospects ready to step in as early as midsummer. Even with the harder AL schedule, IMO I don't see a worse record. What's your take? |

They legitimately have a chance to best (worse?) the 62 Mets and 03 Tigers, IMO. The next to worse team in the AL West is probably better than the 2 or 3 worst teams of the 2012 NL Central.
Edit: More than 1/3 of their wins last year (20/55) came against the Cubs, Pirates, and Brewers. Let's just say those softballs ain't gonna be there this year. Last edited by mzh; 03-31-2013 at 01:38 PM. |

I don't expect the Astros will have a good season, but I also don't expect they will approach the American League record of 119 losses set by the Tigers three years before they went to the World Series.
It wouldn't surprise me at all if the Astros fall short of 100 losses this season. Baseball seasons are so unpredictable. |

I think the Twins could be worse.

Astros are on pace to go 162-0, which I believe would be a MLB record.

Better than last year but I still think they lose 100+

Well, they have one win so far, and against the mighty Texas Rangers at that. They have the amazing ex-Sox Lucas Harrell on the bump today.

They'll lose 100+ games because their starting rotation is awful. Meanwhile they'll keep testing young players, find out who the keepers are, and try to have something for, I'd guess, 2015.
I'm pissed that they left Fox and now I get the obnoxious and annoying Rangers every night instead of the Astros. Sucks. |

I got my own problems. I don't worry about other bad teams.
