White Sox announced that Gregory Infante has been optioned to AAA Charlotte, no corresponding move has been announced.

That would give the Sox four left handed relievers.

I doubt Scahill is any better than Infante, but I would like to see Gomez. Or Cedeno.

Couid it be Vieira?

Gomez and Cedeno both pitched tonight.

No other bullpen arms off to good starts at Charlotte.

I have my bet on Vieira. A lot of talent, and seems like the right call up.

Shouldn't matter. Major League pitchers should get major league hitters out regardless of what side they bat from. If he's the best guy, he gets called up. Should be as simple as that.

I figured both Minaya and Infante would be in Charlotte by May 1. Instead, both gone April 11.

They never should have made the team out of camp in the first place. My guess is they were being "rewarded" for eating up innings in garbage time last year.

Since they ate up those garbage innings effectively last year, I canít blame the team for giving them the chance to do the same thing this year.

Those guys will be back at some point when someone needs a 10-day rest.

With the Sox 40 man roster at 40 with the addition of Bruce Rondon, a corresponding move would need to be made to open a spot on the 40 man roster for Gomez or Cedeno to get the call. Depending on how long Rodon's recovery is going to take or Smith's for that matter, they could be transferred to the 60 day DL thus opening a 40-Man roster spot.

If they go with a pitcher, the options are lefties Ian Clarkin and Jace Fry and righties Ricardo Pinto and Thyago Vieira.

They could also decide to augment the bench and choose from infielders Casey Gillaspie and Jose Rondon or outfielders Ryan Cordell, Daniel Palka or Charlie Tilson.

If I had to guess, it's Vieira that gets the call.

It's Volstad.

They moved Rodon to 60 Day DL and moved him up.

Volstad had a good spring. I thought he was going to break camp with the Sox. He can pitch multiple innings per outing -- which the Sox unfortunately frequently need.
