Maybe. We'll see. The best laid plans of mice and men sometimes go astray.

As an aside, so what was the Sox excuse since they usually had a veteran, experienced team?

Tonight very well could have been the final death knell for the Brewers. They blew a ninth-inning lead with two outs, left the bases loaded in the bottom, then lost in the 10th. Don't see how they recover from that.

You are probably right. I'm convinced if the Giants didn't blow it in the ninth in game four, they would've beaten the Cubs in Game 5 at Wrigley. But they didn't make it to Game 5. Looks like the NL Central race has been decided. One more win by the Cubs in this series and it's over.

I think this race is all over. The Brewers needed at least 3 of 4 to keep their slim hopes alive. After tonight's bitter defeat, again in extra innings, the best they can hope for is a split. That puts the Crew back to 3.5 games behind with 7 to play.

What we have here on the south side is exciting and our attention should be focused on our team. Ignore that north side bunch. They are not important, what they do does not matter. They do not exist.

Unfortunately since both teams are competing for the area fan interest, the casual fan, advertising and the almighty $$$$$, it DOES matter.

Ignoring them as this ownership has done since the beginning, is part of the reason the franchise is in the situation it is in, in my opinion.

The Sox have been, are and always will be in direct competition with the Cubs. That's what happens when you have two teams from the same sport in the same market.

First off I am speaking from a fan's perspective not an owner's perspective. If I owned this team I'd go after that team up north aggressively.

The casual fan can't pay the freight at Wrigley. Prices are more affordable on the south side. If this team keeps showing what it is showing (not tanking thank you very much) baseball fans will notice. Open up access to the park via the 'L' line get shuttles to and from the park and people will come out.
