Default 2017 Minor League thread part dos

Kopech had himself a hell of a night.

Burger, Jimenez with the stand out nights.

Burger looks like he is no joke. I am wondering is Skoug could add competition to Collins as our future catching prospect.

Greatest Arsenal goal I have ever witnessed. Chills to this day watching it.

Wow. He might not last there. Advance A should be knocking on the door soon.

So good to finally have a 1st round pick explode into the scene like this. He's hitting .405

I assume that he, Adolfo, Skoug, and Sheets will probably be in Winston next year. If burger is for real, he may be in AA next year, too.

Edit: he has the feel of a two year project written all over him. Very polished.

Not only 5 for 5 but 2 doubles and a triple, 2 runs and 2 RBI.
Adolfo 2 for 5 with a triple and 2 RBI's giving him 53 on the year so far.

Jiminez's monster night also included a double and triple.

Tito Polo hasn't shown up on a roster yet but I am guessing he goes straight to AA. I expect Jiminez will be there by the end of the month as well. Similarly, I would expect to see Burger in Winston-Salem shortly. Given the small sample sizes we have so far Jiminez and Burger may the quickest to make the majors of the high ranking prospects after Moncada.

Collins, Adolfo, Robert, and maybe Sheets may need to go slower. But I could see Burger in AA next year and Jiminez starting in AA and making it to AAA before the year is out.

Rutherford got a hit and scored a run in his debut tonight also.

Don't know if you guys saw but I posted the Kanny and Winston-Salem lineups at the end of the last thread. Very impressive. Kanny was 1 thru 9 prospects. W-S was close to the same. Don't think I've ever seen that on a minor league team before let alone two in the same system.

Tito Polo is indeed expected to be in AA.

I will include pitching on this list:

Kopech: 2019
Lopez: 2017
Giotto: sept 2018
Dunning: 2019
Hansen:2020
Adams September 2018

Jimenez and Burger September 2018
Rutherford: 2020
Adolfo: 2020
Collins: 2019
Skoug: 2019
Robert: sept 2020

Robert is the obvious wild card. Don't know who he is. If he is moncada good, I think we Are possibly seeing him in September 2019.

I do expect our top 100 list to expand. Moncada will leave while Burger will slot in. I also believe Skoug will enter it at some point as well as Hansen. Skoug, like Hansen, was absolute thievery in my opinion. He only downside was inconsistency in his swing. This is something that can be taught, in my opinion.

Craig Dedelow for the Voyagers is a beast. Sadly, there is no room for another OF at Winston or Kannapolis.

Goes 3 for 7 today with another HR. Gives him 6 since debut.

Another sleeper, Anthony Villa with the Voyagers. 23 year old 1B goes 2 for 2 w/ a HR plus 2 walks. Gives him 6 HRs also in the short time.

Luckily, it looks like we will deliver on at least Dunning or Lopez so that trade won't be a complete loss.
He's 22 and was drafted only last year.

Exactly! The development team has him working almost exclusively on his defense. Calling pitches, framing and throwing; he's made great strides in all categories. The team wants him to stick at catcher, and he's, thus far, been been a great pupil.

Playing great defense and getting on base at a .365 clip despite the hitting struggles.

Right now- zero position player prospects at AA or AAA.

Fun to see what's happening at WS and Kannapolis- Burger could move up to the Dash quickly , Skoug could start to push Collins , Micker only 8 months older than Rutherford- similar production, wonder if he starts to move up Sox prospects ranking soon? How soon does Jiminez move to Birmingham?

Seems like maybe Kopech is really breaking through- prob his best start last night, while Giolito really got lit up.

Zavala is the one who may be pushing Collins right now. It would be great, though, to have three good catching options given the recent Sox history with that position.
