I meant that Abreu would be the proven commodity.

"There are no such things as “trade for need” or “redundant depth” when dealing with minor leaguers and rookies. They flame out far too often."

Something I tell myself daily about the expectations of the White Sox talent in the minor leagues.

As for Reed too much risk. Go for their younger OF/1B prospect. Don't panic and make a bad deal wit the Astros. Abreu will get other offers. Look to the Red Sox as one of those teams. looking for a bat.

WEEI radio in Boston today also brought up a possible White Sox / Red Sox deal involving Jose and Jackie Bradley JR. as the main pieces. Don't know if this was just speculation on their part or if there was some definite info that came out on discussions between the two clubs.

Red Sox would love to unload their crap (Bradley) for our star.

This isn't happening.

Edit: Hahn should counter with Avi.

Yeah, it’s been another season of absolute suckage from Bradley Jr. this year. He’s off the radar now.

Boston doesn’t look like they have the trade ammo anymore. Michael Chavis was suspended for PEDs, and Jay Groome had Tommy John surgery. I have to believe that Houston can do better.

I tend to agree, although I see it more as trade for value. One thing that has gnawed at me throughout this dispersal is that the Sox haven't gotten much talent at premium positions; it's like trades have been made on the other teams' terms. It would be nice to get some player at SS, CF, C 3B. Heck Williams and Hahn never have had any problem dispersing middle infielders for bad veteran talent.
I'd always accept pitching.
AJ Reed is a throw-in, only.
