I saw some speculation this morning that he could help Luis Robert transition into life in the US; High-A seems like a reasonable first step for Robert.

Maybe he also can help Jake Burger work on his defense.

Good for Omar. It says a lot about a guy who played at a high level in the majors for 20+ seasons to go from working as an MLB coach with the Tigers to riding the buses in A ball. He's obviously serious about doing what it takes and paying his dues to become a big league manager. I hope this works out.

Willie Harris was the manager at W-S this past season. I wonder if he's leaving the organization or if he's staying on elsewhere in the Sox system.

They regularly shuffle guys around to different levels and different positions each off-season so it doesn't necessarily mean Willie is gone.

Glad to see them sign Vizquel regardless. His impact on Alexei Ramirez during his brief stint with us was noticeable.

I work in Winston-Salem about 50% of the time- next season could be very interesting for the Dash. I heard good reviews about Harris- but this could be another example (beyond Vizquel's qualifications) of the Sox seeing the importance of a manager fluent in Spanish and how that impacts communication and player development.

I think Robert starts the season in Kanny- but will will quickly move up to A+ (about 40 miles from Kanny to WS).

Along with Robert (after a brief stint in Kannapolis)- these are the other Top 30 prospects that will likely be in WS in 2018-

Burger
Adolfo
Sheets
Basabe
Cease
Clarkin
Puckett
Fisher
Martinez
Flores

Smart move. He can stress fundamentals and teach the young players how important they are to winning games and teaching defense especially coming from him will also be a real plus.

Not yet- but I'm adding to my list. I tend to just go to what's close to either our office in Winston Tower or to my corporate apartment-thanks for the tip!

The food is great! My daughter graduated from Wake in May and we went there every time I visited. Mozelle's is also excellent.

Making these kind of moves makes me hope the Sox are serious in straightening out their system.

That's a stacked line-up in A+. I am excited to see the returns.

Greatest Arsenal goal I have ever witnessed. Chills to this day watching it.

And my list doesn't include a few that could move up from Kanny at some point- Rutherford, Skoug and Call.

Rutherford/Robert/Adolfo will be a pretty impressive A+ outfield- could be a bit of a log jam overall.

Willie Harris has left the White Sox for another organization

https://twitter.com/ChrisKuc/status/932692524971495424

If there's one thing I've learned all these years of following the Sox, it's that you never see the last of Willie Harris.

I love it. Nabbing Vizquel is a great move.
