Cubs opened as a -131/+118 favorite. The line is now Cubs -107/Nats -103.

Fangraphs has the Nats at 50.5% to win and the Cubs at 49.5%.

So the Cubs may win, but let's not get crazy. The game is really a toss-up.

As a Sox fan, I reserve the right to be crazy in all matters regarding the Cubs defense of their title.

I'll believe in the likelihood of the Nats winning a postseason series when I see them celebrating on the field.

If you lose, you absolutely lose with your best pitcher and that's not Gio.

Max gets the start and the ball and you tell him to go as long as possible. (And if he gets in trouble you do NOT bring in Oliver ****ing Perez!!!) LOL

By rights the teams should have tomorrow off, but TV rules all and they say they have to start the LCS's on time. Could be bad baseball tomorrow.
Scherzer is on two days' rest. I don't doubt that he has a couple innings in him, maybe even three. But it would be better to bring him out of the bullpen than to start him.

I'd be tempted to start Roark, just so Maddon puts Hooves in LF and his other left-handed guys in the lineup. Then go to Gio in the second inning and force Maddon to choose between emptying his bench early or enduring unfavorable lefty-on-lefty matchups.

That actually isn't a bad idea at all.

Sound plan, but remember Dusty Baker is making the decisions here.......

Dusty will have fallen asleep by the time the second inning rolls around.
