Does anybody have ideas about what levels these guys will start at in 2018? I assume Kopech is slated for Charlotte, and Jimemez and Hansen are likely headed to Birmingham, but what about the others?

A lot will probably depend on what is shown in the spring camps.

The reigning World Champs also released J.D. Martinez in spring 2014. He's been a stud ever since. Even good teams make bad decisions.

Quintana was a Rule 5 from the Yankees, wasn't he? More evidence of good teams making bad decisions. Heck, sometimes all a player needs is a change of scenery to unlock their potential, completely unrelated to how they were used by their previous team.

By the way the Sox P.R. department officially said how to pronounce Luis Robert's last name. It's just like the way you'd say a first name, ROBERT.

IIRC, Quintana was a minor league free agent and not a Rule 5 pickup.

Somehow that strikes me as a more egregious error on the Yankees' part.

Both are pretty bad. It's funny how the Mets signed/released him, then the Yankees signed/released him.
