Default *Official* 6/11/17 Sox Lose Again Postgamer

The walk has been hurting Quintana lately and he is not at all efficient with his pitch counts. Sigh, I really want to be rid of him but it's looking like we are stuck.

And really is Tim Anderson a worse defending Gordon Beckham? I mean seriously. I'm terrified that he is just a bad ballplayer. Hopefully an overreaction on my part but good lord he looks awful.

On the brightside...I don't know Frazier maybe coming around. That's about it.

All three runs Q allowed today again came with two out.

I wonder what percentage of runs he's allowed this season have come with two out and he's ready to get out of an inning.

I've been thinking along the same lines while hoping Anderson will come around and be the player he was hyped to be.

Until this team gets to the point where it actually can win the occasional game when the starter gives up 3 runs in 5 innings, nothing else will matter. As it stands right now, 3 runs in 5 innings is a ****ing death sentence, which is beyond pathetic.

So is making fundamental errors on the bases and when defending as they've done the last two games.

Quintana's outing was characterized by getting two strikes on the 7-8-9 hitters in the Cleveland order and being unable to put them away.

He's got the No. 9 hitter down in the count 0-2 with two outs in that fourth inning, and he ends up giving up two runs, one on a wild pitch and the other on a two-strike base hit.

He's developing a reputation as a nibbler. He can't put hitters away. He can't execute pitches out of the stretch. He can make it through six full innings. It is irritating as hell.

I used to look forward to watching Quintana pitch. Right now, it's torture to watch the Sox when he's on the mound.

Long time White Sox fans I know complain that nibbling is the philosophy Cooper preaches. I've never heard Cooper asked a direct question on his approach when pushed with examples like yesterday's fourth inning from Q.

When you don't have a putaway pitch, you nibble. He's back to where he was three years ago.

He never had over powering stuff but in the past he was more able to spot the ball where he wanted, make a pitch that he needed to make. I'm sorry but he is a mess right now. I've liked him since he's been on the Sox and hope he can get his mojo back.
