Default Petricka back...

Goldberg sent down.

Hope the guy can stay healthy for longer than two weeks, pitch well and be part of larger deals for prospects come July.

Yeah, the Sox aren't going to be trading Petricka for anything, and that has nothing to do with his bad game last night. If he's healthy, he'll be a mediocre reliever as he's always been, but he's not a trade piece because of his extensive injury history.

His role in the rebuild will be to eat innings in middle relief until the Sox acquire or develop somebody better, and then he'll be asked to leave. Much like Swarzak.

It's too bad Jones is still on the DL. Aside from Robertson, he'd be the guy to flip, if he were healthy.

Yeah, Petricka looks likely to return for at least one more year in 2018. He makes only $825K, and even a decent raise bargained through the arbitration process likely leaves him still under the $1 million mark.

Except that he's got an injury history, a strange contract and he's aging (hard to believe he'll be 32 this year).

Either did I. I thought Jones was 28 when in reality: (mlb.com the source)

Nate Jones: 31
David Robertson: 32
