Default *Official* 8/4 Welcome back offense Post Game Thread

Nice to see Tim and Eloy driving the ball again. Hurry back Yoan the offense should be back to where it was maybe even better if Goins and Skole can add some offense where there wasn't any before.

Not Lopez best start recently but he was good enough and the bullpen nailed it down.

Nice to win the series with almost a sweep and on the road against a team that was supposed to be a contender, overpaid Harper hasn't helped that much.
Now let's go into Motown and sweep the series.

Nice to see the offense back . almost every position player had at least one hit . enjoy watching Goins and Garcia . nice to see Anderson and Jimenez getting on the board.

Lopez started strong, but struggled in the 6th. Overall, an above average start. Bummer saved the day (again).

I’m still shocked there were no takers for Leury at the deadline.

Also, it feels like forever ago that we traded Alex Rios for him.

Why should the Sox trade Leury when he's proven himself to be such a good player?

I agree, the guy has played everywhere they've asked, and he hits fairly well too. Teams need utility men, and he fits the bill.

Alex Rios for Leury Garcia looks pretty good in retrospect, considering Rios has been out of MLB since 2015 ended.

Agreed. It was a waiver deadline deal, too.

Yes, teams usually only trade bad players.

Wow - when you tell your grandkids about how the Sox acquired the legendary Leury Garcia, they won't understand it because waiver deals no longer exist.

Sox should trade Leury or extend him. Heís really an exceptional utility player. Sox will need a great utility player when theyíre good so Iíd vote for an extension and it shouldnít cost that much. Probably a bit more than normal utility player.

Because that is what Armchair GMs at WSI do.

When Harper stuck out in his first AB, I texted a friend that he was earning his salary. When he committed the E-9 in the next frame, I asked my friend if Harper was on the Sox payroll.

Harper has barely been above average this year and that 10.0 bWAR season he posted 4 years ago is looking more and more like an anomaly with each passing game. I know he has all the physical gifts to be that player and he doesnít seem to dog it. I can say I have no clue why heís not meeting his potential. Perhaps the league adjusted to him and he canít counter.

I was one of the people wanting him here and so far Iíve been proven wrong. I still would have given Machado that big deal though.

The elite, the one-man playoff team, Realmuto hasn't exactly been tearing it up on the offensive end either.
