Does anyone know the latest on AJ Puckett?

I think he has more to gain from Coop and more consistent umpires. The zones in AAA can be ridiculous, and I don't think he has anything to gain from trying to figure them out. My opinion, obviously.

Anyone else notice that Madrigal's inter-swing routine is Jeter's?

Well, Giollito as been allowed the opportunity to work on his command issues here at the ML level. And his stuff is nowhere close to Kopech's.

Same for Rodon and Covey. Both battling terrible command right now.

I much rather have Kopech working on his command up here at this level during a lost season, but at least giving him a taste of the ML. I really don't like stud arms like this wasting those limited bullets in meaningless AAA games. I truly don't see any point to that. Now if the Sox were contending, different story. I wouldn't want them experimenting with guys who can't command while the team is playing for something.

I'm disappointed in Kopech. I can't really advocate for him anymore. He needs to stay in Charlotte for the whole year.

When asked about potential prospect call-ups, Hahn always says the good ones tend to force the issue.

Well, if any Sox prospect would like to start forcing the issue, I would be in favor of that.

I saw a report that listed him as day-to-day with an unspecified leg injury.

The only prospect during this rebuild that was forcing his way up here was Eloy before getting injured. So Hahn is full of **** when it comes to that.

Moncada was not tearing up Charlotte when he was called up, he was in a bit of slump if I recall. Had a good OPS in the low 800s but that to me was really not "forcing" anything.

Fulmer and Giollito were not doing anything special at Charlotte when they got the call. Reynaldo a little better but was he really forcing anything?

Player development really concerns me here. Big time. On top of that, layer with the injuries.

Look at Fulmer. He's not improved one bit since being sent back to AAA. And we're to assume the people are there to get Kopech right? I'll take my chances with Coop, and he's proven not to be the miracle mastermind in every case. But I rather take my chance with him.

If I'd put a grade on the rebuild progress for the 2018 season (by itself), I'd give it a C- so far. Maybe even a D.

2017, as solid A with all the collection of talent. But 2018 has been miserable. Starting with the injuries and lost time, to the struggles of all the key pieces already at or near the ML level.

Let's hope the 2nd half shows a huge turnaround.

FYI, the MiLB First Pitch app makes it pretty easy to track the box scores for each of the Sox minor league affiliates. Also, SSS and SoxMachine give daily recaps of all the minor league action.

Spencer Adams is putting himself back on the map. Him and Stephens will make an interesting argument for the rotation next year.

Hansen with a good outing, finally. He should be doing this more often than not.

6 innings, 4 hits, 1 run, 1 walk, 5 strikeouts.

Hopefully his personal "spring training" is behind him, the rust is off, and he gets back on track.

Real good line. Let's hope this is the turnaround.

His fastball velocity is sitting somewhere near 92-95. He was around 95-98 last year.
