A number of the starting pitchers for the Sox farm system today are prospects of interest:

AAA: Kopech
AA: Flores
High A: Battenfield
Rookie: Stiever (this year's 5th round pick)

Stiever so far in his short minor league career in two 3-inning starts: 6.0 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 2 BB, 12 K.
**That's not to suggest anyone is penciling him in for anything** Just saying it's a nice start to his pro career.

By the way, I wonder when Konnor Pilkington (LHP, 3rd round pick) will get his first start for the Sox organization?

....Flores and Battenfield look good again in their 2nd starts since being promoted to AA and High A, respectively.

Sheets and Adolfo each with 3 hits for W-S. Luis Gonzalez goes 4 for 5. He's hitting .421 in his 8 games since moving up to W-S.

Kopech: 6.0 IP, 3 R, 1 ER, 3 H, 4 BB, 8 K

Kopech threw 60 pitches in the first 3 innings and wound up at 97 (54 for strikes) after 6, plus the loss. He really needs to improve his control before he's called up.

Sheets is really coming on- with the power now joining the batting average improvement- chance for promotion to AA before the end of the season?

Luis Robert, back on the DL...thumb injury.

Don't know if it is the same one that caused him to miss 10 weeks.

How is that possible? It either is fully healed or not? Did they release any details?

****s sake. He has barely played.

Greatest Arsenal goal I have ever witnessed. Chills to this day watching it.

I can't find the link now, but I believe I read somewhere that he injured his thumb when colliding with the OF wall making a catch.

I saw elsewhere where someone has already nicknamed him "the Glassman..."

Running into OF walls? Maybe he's Pete Reiser 2.0.

More good news...

Garfien tweeted an hour ago that Eloy left the game after apparently hurting himself on a swing. Chuck thinks it may be a leg muscle.

Maybe it's not so bad.

I’ll be cautiously optimistic since he appears to be the only one who’s tweeted about it. Hopefully just a mild strain/cramp.

On the positive side- another great day by Sheets at WS, a great start by Cease at AA, and Hamilton has still no allowed an ER in 4 relief appearances at AAA.

It sounds like he aggravated his earlier thumb injury when running into the OF wall.

Robert out four to eight weeks. The kid has barely played baseball since we signed him. He could be one of those always injured what could have been players.

I think he has played, maybe. 40 games total in the past two seasons
