Why, oh why, are they still wearing the '83 uniforms on Sundays?

Because as freaking, fracking, skull-smashingly, eye-gougingly, mind-numbingly, brain-meltingly, good only for dusting and wiping yourself when you've run out of TP ugly they are, they sell.

For a few years now I've been saying that I'd like to see them have an updated version (stick the same logo on the cap, for one) of the red, white, and blue 1917 uniform. Maybe for July 4th or flag day or whatever.

Why not? That sounds good to me too.

I'm good with any of those.

They are certainly all that. I disliked them then, dislike them more now.

The only reason I can come up with is that Reinsdorf must like the nostalgia. 1983 was the first great Sox team of his ownership tenure.

I'm with you. I wish they would ditch those uniforms.

The color in the Father's Day uniform looks like a little bit like that in the team road uniform from the late 60s.
Yeah, I really like the Father's day one for that reason. I may pick up the cap.

I don't think the only reason is that JR likes them. Lots of fans seem to also, even if you personally don't.
