I agree. I thought Basabe and Adolfo would be pushing a move to Birmingham but Basabe has cooled off and Adolfo still has the possible surgery lurking.

Good.

This. I'll take contact over power most any day. If he can learn to control his bat better, then that natural power should come out in game time anyway.

My guess is Adolfo plays for another month or so at WS- then gets his surgery so he's back 100% by spring training. Assuming Booker moves up (combination of decent results and age) that would leave 4 slots for Rutherford, Basabe, Call, Robert and L. Gonzalez- maybe Basabe moves up but he needs to have another extended period of productivity to get moved. Too soon for the other guys- Robert's stay in WS could be pretty brief, but he hasn't played alot of baseball the past few years for different reasons.

White Sox signed former Tigers outfielder Alex Presley and assigned him to Charlotte. He is on the active roster. Possible replacement for Engel?

I thought I saw that the signing was of the minor league variety. Also, the White Sox have released Todd Cunningham.

Default Tilson

Looks like Charles Tilson is doing better lately. Not doing great, but hitting over .260 his last ten games. Not walking much. Seeing as how this is a “developmental” season isn’t it time to let Tilson finish the season in the Bigs and end the Engel experiment?

Engel bought himself a reprieve tonight, but it looks like the Sox will need at least a short-term replacement for Leury. And a permanent one for Thompson.

Tilson? Saunders? Presley?

Or Jimenez?

Oh, and if the Castillo rumor is true, Kevan Smith will be coming up. Pity Zavala is hurt because it's time for both he and Collins to be catching full time.

For those with a subscription, there's a nice article in the Athletic today about how Kopech has added a curveball in his last two outings, with positive results.

I read that as well. If I was a betting man I'd say he'll be with the big league club by the end of June.
