Wow, that's probably over double what was expected that he was getting. Nice payday for him. Reds clearly wanted a lefty bat this offseason.

This is either a ridiculous overpay by the Reds or a sign of a major shift in free agent spending.

Jurickson Profar to the Padres.

Fills the 2B role since the trade of Urias.

If that's the shift, it makes the Grandal deal look like a bargain because it's almost the same money and he's a much much much better player.

I highlighted the relevant portion of your post. That team has been dysfunctional for a long time when it comes to trades and FA signings.

Moose @ 3B? Does that mean Nick Senzel is a full time outfielder (once he heals up)?

Reports say Moose will play 2B.

Villar traded to Marlins - they're going to pay him to start, so no big deal missing out at the salary they're willing to pay.

The Marlins also claimed Jesus Aguilar who should be a good bounce back candidate.

I can't imagine Phillies fans are too happy with that signing.

Well, signing Wheeler for 5 years and $100 million will probably soften the blow for Philly fans.

Dallas Keuchel and Madison Bumgarner are still out there. They BOTH have post season experience and WS rings. 1 or both would be appreciated. Please, Rick Hahn, for the love of God, don't make Sox fans settle for Julio Tehran.

I'd mention Gerritt Cole, but the Sox have ZERO chance of signing him.

All of those guys represent equal back end productivity. At least Tehran would be cheap.
